New Nevada Marijuana Companies Could Miss Out On Early Sales

While it’s totally legal for both medical and adult use marijuana in Nevada, some potential pot sellers are crying foul at the rules established to license pot shops.

The Department of Taxation has proposed a May 31st deadline to apply for a temporary license, however CBS Vegas reports, a number of hopeful recreational marijuana retailers claim rules for temporary licenses are unfair, giving preference to companies already established as a medical marijuana operators in good standing with the state.

Several would be ganjaprenuers argued the deadline would result in months of missed recreational pot sales.

To qualify for a temporary recreational marijuana license, companies must have their medical marijuana license in hand and have paid taxes to the state by May 31, the Department of Taxation has proposed. Those that qualify will be allowed to grow, produce and sell (depending on the license type) recreational marijuana starting July 1.
